Experience

Zacharia (Zach) Warkentin was born in Kenora, Ontario and has spent most of his life in Thunder Bay. He attended Lakehead University for all his post-secondary education. He graduated from Commerce with a major in finance and a minor in accounting in 2017 and graduated from Political Science Pre-Law with first-class standing in 2020. Zach graduated from the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law in 2023 and was called to the Ontario bar the same year. Zach has a range of litigation experience in his early legal career from completing his Practice Placement at Atwood Labine LLP working in Criminal Law, to being awarded the best closing argument in the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association moot civil trial competition in 2023. Zach is also passionate about mental health initiatives as he acted as the first Vice President of Mental Health and Awareness for the Law Students Society at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law throughout his second year of law school.

Community Involvement and Professional Affiliations

Zach spends his free time curling in the winter and golfing in the summer. If you ever run into him at a weekend bonspiel or teeing up at the local course, he welcomes an introduction. Other hobbies of his include fishing, hiking, camping, and enjoying the beautiful scenery that Northern Ontario provides.
