Experience
Mr. Johansen has wide and diversified experience in advising both business and non-profit corporations. He has, in particular, been involved in the creation, organization and provision of advice to hospitals, healthcare institutions and athletic organizations.
Mr. Johansen has extensive experience in contract law and financing including preparation, review and advice on contract relationships, private and public financing options, leases, franchise, joint venture, revenue sharing agreements and investment relationships.
He is involved in commercial litigation including construction liens, construction defect complaints and dispute resolution mechanisms directed at settlement without the necessity of litigation.
Mr. Johansen also provides labour relations advice to management including representation before Boards of Arbitration, Ontario and Canada Labour Relations Board and Ontario Courts. He has acted on behalf of employers involved in wrongful dismissal lawsuits as well as providing advice prior to litigation to employers involved in downsizing operations.
